Frequently Asked Questions:
How do you hire and screen your employees? HWH recruits only trained individuals that are thoroughly screened through stringent checks of their credentials, criminal background, references and physical condition. Just as important, they must display the kindness and compassion needed to care for others. In addition, all personnel is bonded and insured, and regularly participate in service training to keep their skills current. HWH’s demanding screening process results in the most highly qualified and reliable caregivers to give, you, our patient, a peace of mind.
Do I have a say in the type of caregiver I receive? Yes! HWH will first conduct an assessment of your needs. We will then identify the caregivers who are suited best for your needs in terms of skills, hours, duties and compatibility. Should a compatibility issue arise we will make arrangements for you to meet with another caregiver until you are comfortable with your service.

Will my insurance cover any of the home care services? HWH accepts many different types of long term care and workers’ compensation policies. We will work with the insurance companies to ensure coverage and file claims on your behalf if our services are covered under your policy. We also accept private pay arrangements, if the care needed is not covered by insurance.
How quickly can services be provided? What is home care? Home care is a broad term that describes a wide variety of health and health-related services provided in a home setting. The care is brought into a person’s home to maintain or restore the person’s health and well-being. Services may include but are not limited to: nursing, physical therapy, speech therapy, medical social work, in-home aides, companions and homemakers. They can also include medical equipment and supplies, infusion therapy, respiratory therapy and nutrition.
There are two categories of home care. Home health care typically describes skilled nursing and therapy services and home care describes non-medical services that address functional needs of everyday living such as meals and grooming. In both instances, it is personalized care that reduces the anxiety and stress associated with most forms of healthcare and allows a maximum amount of freedom for the individual. Quite often home care also means significant savings in the cost of care when compared to institutional settings.
Every day, millions of Americans rely on home care to stay out of a hospital, nursing home, or some other institution. There is continued evidence that patients frequently heal more quickly at home and there is very high consumer satisfaction associated with care delivered in the home.
